Why you shouldn’t buy a puppy from a puppy store

There is a huge difference between people who breeds dogs and you should be aware of that when you are thinking about buying a dog. It is easy to go to a store and to fall in love with a puppy in one of their cages, even feel sorry for them sitting in a cage, but where do they get their puppies from?

Most, if not all puppy stores, get their dogs from breeders who is in it for money. No serious breeder will sell to puppy stores. You will never see a papillion puppy from Crisanda Papillons in a puppy store for example. People who are in it for the money don’t care about the dogs at all. They are called puppy-mills and breeds dogs out of greed. Their dogs live in filth, small cages and have a miserable life. Lots of puppies are sick with kennel cough, worms, bad coats and not bred to standard.

People can go to puppy stores to look at the different dogs they have or go to a dog pound, but they need to stay away from puppy stores to buy one.

People should stay away from most web sites that have puppy ads too. Why is that? The reason for that is that most of them don’t care who advertise their dogs on the web site. 95% of the ads is from puppy-mills and scammers. One good indication of a scammer is that they do not have a web site and if they do they have stolen puppy pictures from a real breeders web site and use them to sell their puppies.

One web site that you should use is PawsitesOnline.com. Every ad has been screened and all breeders who advertise is a serious breeder so if you plan to buy a puppy, that is the only website we recommend.

Internet marketing is about utility. It’s not enough to build a pretty website; you must also build one that’s engaging and easy to use. Internet Marketingand geo marketing places an emphasis on marketing that appeals to a specific behaviour or interest, rather than reaching out to a broadly-defined demographic. Marketers have the luxury of targeting by activity and geolocation . Website Advertising is vital to your online website. It can be the answer to getting some sales. Search Engine rankings are just the result of modifying web pages. The difference between Winners and losers is very subtle. Search engines decide this based on extensive user studies so you’re really benefiting your visitor by having this done for your site. This is more complicated than most local designers or IT guys think and the information on the web is often outdated - even 1 year ago could be outdated, and there is so much speculation as to what actually matters. Search engines love social bookmarking sites so I am taking advantage on them. Search engines rank website’s based on a couple major factors: Unique content, keywords in the body, keyword density, website structure and link popularity (the number of quality incoming links to your website). Other important algorithm factors that determine your placement with search engine results is the architecture of the site, visibility of your content, underlying code and how natural your site appears to the engines.

Web design is very easy now thanks to many companies that are now offering templates of web pages that are ready to use. Ready made banners, advertisements, music and animation can all be added to your web page too. Website marketing is as equally important as website design itself. But, what good is an innovative, well-designed website if people don’t even know it exists? Web sites that had higher PageRank would have an advantage and would in most cases rank higher than similar pages that were not as popular.

My New Website

Introduction
When I decided I needed a website for my business I had no idea of the planning involved. Like most people, I thought web design meant deciding on the graphics and the look of the pages and then by some magic it would all happen.

I have a friend who is in the business of web design and website development so I approached him for a quote. As a complete novice who is computer literate up to a point, I was amazed at the depth of initial questioning required to find out exactly what I wanted to achieve.

I had no idea about the various aspects and the structure of the site and I found it mind blowing when I learned about the amount of work involved. So I thought other people would be interested to know more about this complicated process and I have asked my friend to supply the technical information for this article.

Stages in the Process

Target Audience
Before building a website there are important questions to consider. I was asked who would be my potential audience. Who are my customers likely to be? Would they be children, businesses, home owners, sales people, parents or teenagers and so on?

The objective of the website
Then I was asked, what was the objective of my website?
Did I want to sell products on line or use it to market my business and get more leads for possible customers? Maybe I would want to use it as an online brochure to showcase products. Another possibility was to use the website to foster a community so that I was in contact with other like-minded people, with chat rooms, online discussion and being supported by advertising on the site.

I hadn’t quite realised the scope of a website but as I was asked these questions it became clear that a lot of careful thought went into the preparation before building a website.

How to be Found on the Web
One of the first questions I was asked was, ‘Do you want it to be found by Google the main search engine?’ If I did then there was a whole process of establishing Keywords. So finding the best keywords are vital if you want to be found in Google. Generally most users only look at the top ten results so you will also want to promote your website to get on this page for your chosen keywords. By using a keyword research tool you can find the single most popular keyword for your industry.

Your Domain Name
Choosing a domain name is often quite a problem because every name you initially come up with will almost certainly have been taken. Domain names ending in .com are by far the most popular and internationally recognised; the snag is that it’s very popularity means that the majority of the shorter names have already been registered.
So looking at names with endings such as .net; .co.uk or .info may be able to provide you with the domain name you want. When choosing your domain name it is very important to include one or more of your keywords if possible as this can apparently help with search engine rankings. So although the name of your business is the obvious choice for a domain name, it is not necessarily the only option.

Creating a Site Map
The importance of creating a site map is to get it clear in your mind of all the pages you will have on your website so you can prepare the content for each page and begin to design the flow through the website, such as when a user adds a product to their basket, then enters their delivery and billing address and makes the credit card payment in the correct order.

The aim is to make the site as user friendly as possible so that there are no barriers to getting into the website. For that reason often user name and passwordz are set for the customer so that they are not put off making a purchase by having to register.

For a non e-commerce site things are simpler with a contact form which allows you to receive enquiries by email without publishing your email address on the website, thus avoiding spam.Web forms can also validate the information before you receive it, so ensuring that the phone number provided does not contain words, and that the email address is in the correct format, for example. These things may sound very technical to us lay-folk but I assure you everything has to be decided on before starting on the construction of the site.

Copy
The next stage is preparing the copy. This is not the design of your website - just the words and visuals you want to have one each of the pages.

Having gathered all the previous information you will need to decide what imagery you want to use within the website content. As we all know, a picture speaks a thousand words and remains in people’s memory far longer than just words.

For each image you should also have a caption, as the caption of an image is the next ‘most read’ words on the page after the page title. Images and their captions need to be clickable. When you click on a picture it should take you to the next stage of the process such as the sale page or placing an enquiry if your website is for lead generation.

Navigation
Another important consideration when building a website is how you want your navigation to work. You can have links within the content of your website, in the text, so there are not just links from the menu. You will need to decide whether the links will open into a new window, retaining your original page open. Next time you go online, you will realise how much thought has gone into the way in which a website works.

Website Design
Finally we come to the design of your website. I asked my friend in web design Nottingham to comment about this and he says it is one of the most difficult stages of the process because it’s subjective. What one person might like, another person might not like. If you are setting up a website for yourself alone then you will probably have some idea of what you want to see on the site. But if, as so often happens, the website is for a large corporation there will be inputs from many people or departments and you can be sure that they will never all agree!

There are a number of ways to approach web design but ultimately you need to create a design brief for the designer(s) to work from. Look at other websites and your competitor’s websites to find out what you like or dislike. The design brief should give reference to the logo, any existing brand guidelines or schemes and fonts and colour schemes, and should also detail which pages of the website that the designer is being tasked with creating visuals for.

The very best results will be achieved by using a graphic designer, and beware - not all graphic designers are the same. A graphic designer who designs specifically for print is working in a different discipline than a graphic designer who designs for screen and specifically the web. So choose your designer carefully, look at other work that person has done and determine whether or not you like their style.

If you are working in the big time and budget allows, use multiple graphic designers who have all been given the same design brief and request three concept designs from each designer. If the client themselves also do a graphic design, even if it’s a back of the envelope scribble, you will then have 10 concept designs. The next step is to get them all together and select the preferred elements from each design. Then give the work to the preferred graphic designer to work up as the final artwork.

The artwork should be finalised and agreed on by everybody before construction of the site begins.

Production
Finally the preparation has been done and the site is ready to be built. Now for the more technical stuff! You will need to have decided which programming language to use to build the website. There are two main types for developing a website, one is Unix based, and the other is Windows based. Each one has advantages and disadvantages. If you are starting from scratch then it probably won’t matter, so you can go with the preference of your professional doing the work. My website is built on the Unix platform (apparently!) which is the same as many of the more well known websites such as Ebay, Facebook, Google and Amazon. Also your website hosting must be compatible with the development language with which your website is built.

Accessibility and Compliance
The website has to meet the current standards for website coding and doing so insures that disabled users, such as the visually impaired, can still access the entire website if they are using a Braille web browser.

Website Development
The best way to develop a website is on the web Server where the site is going to live. This way, those involved in reviewing the work can see work in progress and provide comments throughout the development.

Unforeseen items
There are always some things that arise in any project which you suddenly realise you have forgotten, so no matter how well the website designer prepares and asks the right questions, there will always be a last minute change or addition. The main aim is to minimise the number of glitches that might arise because they aren’t calculated in and they could cause extra costs and delays on the date of the site going live.

Launching Your New Website
The moment of excitement comes when your site finally gets launched and you see the results of all the thought that has gone into the whole process. I was over the moon to see my barn conversions website go live. As soon as the site has gone live there is no substitute for real world testing though, so ask as many of your friends and colleagues to view the website from their own offices and give you their thoughts.

Reporting and Monitoring
Once your website is up and running, you will want to know how many people visit your website and from that number how many actually buy the products or place an enquiry. From these statistics you can work out the ratio of hits to sales and gradually make changes to improve the ratios. There are some reliable statistics packages such as Google Analytics or Web-Stat.com which allow you to collect and review website visitor data in near real time. All you need to do this is to have a small block of code inserted into each web page on your site.

Another useful service that Web-stat.com provides is to monitor the website and warn you by email or text message if the site is offline.

Marketing
Once the website is live there are lots of things you can do to market your product or service. The first step is to submit it to the search engines and at the same time write articles, and press releases. Getting links to the site from forums, blogs and other social networking spaces are other options. For more on this subject ask your developer about SEO

Conclusion
Wheww. What an amazing amount of work! I hadn’t realised when I started the process of getting a website up and running, how complicated it all is and how many factors you have to consider before even designing the website. The word web design is really a misnomer, as people often think it’s just about the graphic design on the home page, and the branding of the product. Unless you are a computer buff, most people have no idea how much goes into designing and building a website and the systems that support the work you want it to do. I hope that this article will give readers an understanding and insight into the whole process of website development from start to finish.

The battle for hot hatches

The competition for hot hatches in Europe is getting intense, and some compete with sports cars. Recently, the VW Golf Gti was the king, but now the Ford Focus STcompetes head-on.

Now along comes the latest version of the MINI with over 200 bhp! Also, there is Ford’s Focus RS, with 300 bhp, the most powerful front-drive hatchback out there. I wonder whether the car will get that power onto the |road. Ford is counting on a Quaife torque-sensing differential, and the vehicle stability control set up to give plenty of fun-proving oversteer. Should out-perform the Honda Civic Type R hot hatch

Four-wheel drive was obviously what was needed but Ford did not want to get involved in that complication – they want the kudos without that much cost and trouble – not surprising given Ford’s finances.

Maybe the boom of sports cars and super sports cars is over for a time as people – even well-heeled people – find it necessary to tighten their belts. In that case, the future of the hot hatch looks bright.

MINI John Cooper Works to compete with the Honda Civic Type R

The MINI John Cooper Works might be more fun than the Focus RS, because it is that much smaller - and it is almost as quick. With 211 bhp, the hot new MINI really raises the bar for small high-performance hatches. Fiat-Abarth does produce a really small hot hatch as well, but it will have to go some to catch this little tearaway, which can reach 60 mph in 6.5 seconds.

Even the MINI Cooper S hot hatch is pretty quick, the MINI John Cooper Works get a bigger turbocharger, reworked intake system, a free-flow exhaust and improved engine internals.

Like most new BMW engines, this one has plenty of low-speed torque, pushing out 191 lb ft (260Nm) at just 1,850rpm. There is an over-boost function which briefly extends this further to 206 lb ft (280Nm) for overtaking. This is a lot of torque for such a small engine. A real competitor in the hot hatch stakes.

Why Registry Cleaners Are A Must-Have

If you’re interested in learning more about registry cleaners, then this guide will give you everything you need. Specifically, we’re going to talk about how vista registry cleaners can improve your system performance, why you don’t need to reformat your PC to fix problems, and why you should stay clear of free registry cleaners. By the time you’ve finished reading this guide, you’ll know what to look for in a registry repair program.

One of the things you may have noticed about your computer, is that over time, it becomes sluggish and not so quick to respond. Many owners look back at when they first got the computer with fond memories, and wish everything would run quickly and smoothly. The reason your PC slows down after awhile, is often because your registry becomes clogged with unneeded entries. This usually happens when you un-install software, but the registry keys are still left behind.

However, nowadays you can fix these slow-down problems without reformatting your computer or having to take it back to the store. This is because there are now many sophisticated registry cleaners which can scan your registry file system and delete these obsolete entries. This will make your computer load faster, and perform daily functions such as opening browser windows and checking your email much faster.

Many of the best registry cleaners also come with additional features, such as temporary file removers, start-up managers and memory optimizers – which allow you to get even more performance out of your computer, without paying for expensive upgrades straight away.

Something to stay clear of when looking at registry cleaners, is to keep away from the free ones. Why? Because many of the free ones can cause more trouble than they fix. You may find your programs not responding, or crashing more frequently, because the poorly coded free registry cleaner is deleting the wrong things. You also receive no support if something was to go wrong. The old saying “you get what you pay for” is very true in terms of registry cleaners.

Test Your IQ Online

IQ tests are tests which attempt to measure intelligence - where intelligence - subject to some contention, is defined as mental ability to among other things, solve problems, comprehend idea, learn new things and benefit from experience.

Attempts at testing intelligence have been with us for quite a long time. Ancient China for example, had an examination system (which really was some sort of an intelligence testing mechanism) and which was employed in the recruitment of civil servants during the Han Dynasty.

Intelligence testing as we know it by that specific name however has its roots in the work of a Frenchman called Alfred Binet early in the 20th century. History has it that Binet - who had established himself as a force to recorn with in psychology in France by that time had been given an assignment by the French government to develop a test that could reasonably predict given children’s potentially for educational achievement. The end result of Binet’s work was what he referred to as the Binet-Simon intelligence scale which was for long was used to ‘measure intelligence’

There have been many developments in the field of intelligence testing since Binet first formally ventured into the field. In fact, the very term IQ test (intelligence quotient) testing has been overtaken by these developments. As it were, when the term IQ test was coined, intelligence was then measured as a ratio of ‘mental age’ and ‘chronological age’.

Simply speaking, there were tasks that were considered apt for a given age and intelligence quotient which was measured by the IQ tests then could be calculated at Mental age/Chronological age x 100. In this case, a child of 10 years who could undertake tasks considered apt for a child of 12 had an intelligence quotient of 120, because 12/10×100 is equal to 120. Ideally, a person could only successfully undertake mental tasks apt for their age, and if a person could do mental tasks beyond their chronological age (e.g. the 10 year doing tasks apt for a 12 year old) was considered remarkably intelligent.

Another 10 year old doing tasks apt for a 14 year old would be even more intelligence and so on and so forth. Obviously, this method of measuring intelligence faced a number of challenges as it proves inadequate for measuring intelligence beyond a given age - because, as we know that (the supposed) intelligence does not just go on increasing with age - and in fact starts declining at a certain age. Modern IQ tests therefore tend to measure the subject’s standard deviation from established means (sort of midpoints) - since it has been established that intelligence in a given sample of people, like many other phenomena, if properly tabulated would form a curve and it is the deviations from the midpoints of that curve which is what is measured by modern IQ tests.

IQ tests and the whole notion of IQ testing have not been without controversy. There is contention, for example, on whether it is really possible to measure human intelligence - given that there is not even consensus on definition of the very term intelligence. The tests employed to measure intelligence have also been criticized for being biased towards certain social groups - especially after a prominent scientist in mid 20th century came up with the argument that certain races were intellectually superior to other races - an argument he backed with data obtained from IQ tests - and which was contested on account that items included in IQ tests give undue advantage to economically privileged (and thus well exposed) social groups - hence their apparent higher IQ test scores.

What To “Really” Look For When Buying A Horse

Has buying a horse got you confused? If your are looking to compare apples to apples..er, Quarter horses to Quarter horses, I mean..then there are a few things you must consider with each and every horse you look at. Here’s the list:

Temperament.

A horse’s temperament is extremely important to your overall experience. If you are a beginning rider, temperament is probably the most important factor when it comes to choosing a horse. A horse of good temperament is alert and ready to work, but also calm and willing.

Manners.

Manners are extremely important! They can mean the difference between a horse being easy to live with, and a horse being not-so-easy to live with! When looking at horses for sale, make sure you watch their behavior as they are being caught, handled, and ridden. And keep in mind that just like with us humans, bad habits can be hard to break!

Soundness.

If you are planning on riding your horse, working soundness is key. This means that the horse should not have any lamenesses that prevents the horse from moving correctly and therefore succeeding at its intended purpose. Horses who aren’t being ridden need to be checked for soundness depending upon what you are planning on using them for. For example, if you are looking for a broodmare, a breeding unsoundness would prevent the mare from having a foal. However, that same mare may be a great family riding horse!

Movement.

Horses should move smoothly and in balance, without stiffness, crookedness, or interference. When looking at younger horses, keep in mind that some of a horse’s gait is determined by training. If you have questions about a horse’s gait, it always helps to get an experienced horse person to look at the horse and give you his opinion. Is the horse’s way of going inherent, or is it something that can be improved with a little training? Be sure you watch the horse at all three gaits. If you ride the horse, is the horse comfortable? If you are a beginning rider, comfort is very important!

Conformation.

The way a horse is built will determine how a horse moves. It goes without saying that the horse shouldn’t have any glaring conformational faults that affect its way of going. Aside from that, the conformation of the horse should be suitable for the manner in which you intend to use him. If you are not educated when it comes to horse conformation, take someone along who is.

Health.

How healthy is the horse you are looking at? Ask to see the horse’s health records, to determine if their is anything long-standing, recurring, or permanent that would have to be dealt with. Temporary health issues can be easier to deal with and you may even get your horse at a discount price as a result. However, do remember that if you intend to buy a horse and then nurse him back to health, there’s a good chance you’ll have to spend time and money that you wouldn’t have spent on a healthier horse.

Accomplishments.

What has your horse done in the past? This may be a very important consideration if you are looking for a horse to show you the ropes; on the other hand, it may not be a consideration at all if you intend to train the horse yourself.

Size.

In the world of horses, size does matter! It is important that your horse fits you. As a general rule of thumb, bigger horses are more desirable because they can accommodate a wider range of riders. If you are looking at a smaller horse make sure your legs can fall in the right position. In other words, your heel should not be below the horse’s underline. If you are not certain, ask someone else how you look on the horse.

There sure is a lot to consider when looking at horses for sale and selecting the right horse. However, it’s important to know that careful selection will result in years of enjoyment. Take your time!
